Griffiths Family Law

Debbie Griffiths limits her practice to the area of family law including adoptions, pre-marital and separation agreements, spousal and child support, custody and property division. She also assists families at all stages of the legal process from pre-litigation, mediation, trial and appeal. Debbie has been certified as a specialist by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization in the area of family law since 2008. Debbie received her J.D. from N.C. 

Central Law School in 2003 where she attended the evening program while working full time as a paralegal for a residential real estate attorney in Raleigh. She graduated from East Carolina University in 1990 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Debbie worked as a receptionist and legal assistant at a local law firm. She currently serves on the fee grievance committee for the 10th Judicial District Bar, the Membership Committee of the Wake County Bar, the adoption committee for the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association. 

Debbie served as co-editor of Family Forum, the newsletter of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, from 2011-2013 and as co-editor of the 3rd edition of the Family Law Deskbook, also published by the Family Law Section. Debbie has also been a speaker at continuing legal education programs both for attorneys and paralegals. In addition to being active in her profession, Debbie is also active in her community serving on the Program Committee for Triangle Family Services. While she is not at work, Debbie enjoys spending time with family and friends. Debbie has two cats – Lucy, who she adopted from the Wake County SPCA, and Patrick, who she rescued from a high kill shelter in a surrounding county.

Bloom, Heidi C.

Heidi moved to Greensboro from New York in 1978 and has called North Carolina home since. Heidi received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. from Wake Forest School of Law. While at Wake Forest, Heidi was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the Moot Court Board, was a teacher’s assistant for Legal Research and Writing, and was elected to the Order of the Barristers. 

Heidi practiced with a law firm in Charlotte for two years. Heidi’s practice is dedicated exclusively to family law and includes all aspects of domestic litigation, appeals, as well as mediation and arbitration. She served on the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Council, is a past editor of the Family Law Forum, is a member of the Family Law CLE committee, and has been both a course planner and a speaker for a number of family law CLE’s. She was part of an eleven-member committee that helped rewrite the local rules of practice for Wake County Family Court, which were implemented in 2010; she sat on the Wake County Bar Association Grievance Committee and Board of Directors; and is now a State Bar Councilor for the 10th Judicial District. When not practicing law, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, playing golf, and participating in triathlons.

Raleigh Adoption Lawyer

Bobby Mills represents adoptive parents in agency and independent adoptions, in both in-state and interstate adoptions. He also represents birth parents in the adoption process. Mr. Mills also helps with family formation through assisted reproductive technologies and surrogacy, including gestational surrogacy arrangements, donor agreements, and actions to establish parentage. He has been practicing law in Raleigh, North Carolina since 1990 with a practice limited to Family Law and Adoption. 

He has been a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law since 1998, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys since 1995.
