McNeil focuses his experience, determination, and intelligence on serving and protecting the clients of McNeil Law Firm during what can be some of life’s most difficult challenges. John joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1986, volunteered to be a Scout in the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Mr. McNeil received numerous service awards and medals, achieving the rank of Sergeant and led Marines in the Panama Invasion, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. 

He has traveled to five continents and throughout the Mediterranean, traversed the Suez Canal, and trekked through the Arctic Circle. John spends his spare time with his family, his children and grandchildren and traveling around the country on his motorcycle.

Debbie served as co-editor of Family Forum, the newsletter of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, from 2011-2013 and as co-editor of the 3rd edition of the Family Law Deskbook, also published by the Family Law Section. Debbie has also been a speaker at continuing legal education programs both for attorneys and paralegals. In addition to being active in her profession, Debbie is also active in her community serving on the Program Committee for Triangle Family Services. While she is not at work, Debbie enjoys spending time with family and friends. Debbie has two cats – Lucy, who she adopted from the Wake County SPCA, and Patrick, who she rescued from a high kill shelter in a surrounding county.
